Throughout his distinguished career as a heart surgeon, Dr. Loughridge has continually been at the forefront in his profession and is widely recognized for his important medical contributions. He is a European Fulbright Scholar, and has authored multiple articles that have been published in medical journals. He was the first surgeon in the region to do cardiac remodeling and was an early user of the laser to smooth the lining of arteries and remove arteriosclerotic plaque. Dr. Loughridge also helped in the research and development of the pig heart valve in heart surgery.
But perhaps most important of all, Dr. Loughridge has always been a passionate advocate for his patients.
